As per the directive received from the Government of Maharashtra State, the Principal of L.B.H.S.S.Ts constituted the Mahila Takrar Nivaran Samiti on 20 January 2014 to look into the grievances related to female students in the institute.
The committee has been formed to take cognizance of the grievances related to the physical or mental harassment, if any, reported by girl students of the institute. The objective is also to look into the redressal of such complaints and to put a stop to any such undesirable activities.
Information about the constitution of Mahila Takrar Nivaran Samiti has been uploaded on the institute website for the information of students and meetings are conducted to discuss on the grievances, if any, and to redress the same. There is a need to network with womens and social organizations for collaborative work on women security.
The Samiti serves to present girl students with a forum to share grievances of a sensitive nature and support and counsel them. Seminars are conducted through various committees such as Women Development Cell for girl students to sensitize them on security of women and enhance their awareness on such issues.
The campus is adequately equipped with close circuit cameras at many locations (including all classrooms and common areas) which not only act as deterrents to misbehavior but also enable authorities to identify offenders, if any. The presence of female security guards on every floor and on many locations on the campus is also a positive step taken by the institute in this direction to avoid any untoward incidents.
Till date, no such incident which lowers the dignity of girl students or any case of physical or mental harassment of girl students has been reported at the institute. One of the objectives of this committee is that this status is maintained and the campus is a safe haven which promotes equality and a healthy academic environment for all its members.
Ragging is strictly prohibited in the college premises and outside. Students indulging in ragging will be punished as per "The Maharashtra Prohibition of Ragging Act, 1999 (Mah. XXXIII of 1999) Published in Maharashtra Govt. Students with a previous record of ragging will not be admitted to this College.
In view of the directions of the Honorable Supreme Court in SLP No. 24295 of 2006 dated 16-05-2007 and in Civil Appeal number 887 of 2009, dated 08-05-2009 to prohibit, prevent and eliminate the scourge of ragging, in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 23 read with Section 10 (b), (g), (p) and (g) of AICTE Act, 1987, the All India Council for Technical Education has notified regulation for prevention and prohibition of ragging in AICTE approved technical Institutions vide No. 37-3/Legal/AICTE/2009 dated 01.07.2009 available on AICTE web-portal. http://www.aicte-india.org/anti.htm > download. All AICTE approved technical Institutions has to comply the provision made in the above regulation. Any violation of above AICTE regulation for prevention & prohibition of ragging, shall call for punitive action against erring Institutions as per provisions made in the above said Regulation.
To consider proposals for college-based research and other academic activities.To consider the appointment of Research Associates of the College.To consider and make grants to students for purposes of elective study and other academic purposes.To receive reports from the Medical Teaching Sub-committee and the Student Support and Scholarships Sub-committee.
To have responsibility for the College Adviser system.In the performance of its functions under (2), (3), and (5) the Committee may ask for business to be regarded as 'reserved' and conducted in the absence of Student Members. Fellows with supervisory responsibilities who are not on the committee may be invited to attend ad hoc.
To discuss and make recommendations to the Governing Body on any academic matters in which the College may have an interest (excepting those concerning individual appointments and elections.To make recommendations on major questions of admissions policy, including the numbers to be admitted annually and other issues affectng the general composition and balance of the student body, and reporting annually on the advice of the Tutor for Admissions.
Objective: To ensure that the college website is regularly updated, improved and well maintained. Responsibilities.
Regularly update the information/data given on the website under various items/heads so as to have the latest and correct information about the institute at all times and removes the incorrect and irrelevant data.Collect information about the latest events in the institute, achievements etc and get them posted on the website by way of write ups and pictures etc.Update all communications, notices, announcements etc on a regular basis.Strive to make improvement in the website with respect to design, preventability etc on a continuous basis.
Workshop committee is responsible for arranging the Workshops and seminars based on Personality development and up to date current trend in information technology and guest lectures by experts.
Objective: To help students to prepare for placement interviews/higher studies and help them to choose an appropriate organization.
Supervision in the labs during the aptitude conducted by the recruiting companies.Maintain discipline and decorum in the Assembly Hall where students are assembled during placement.Assist in setting up labs along with the Lab Assistants during on-line tests.Updating TPO data on the college website from time to time.Coordinate for quizzes and competitions organized by different companies.
The Examination Committee is an apex body of the Institute which is headed by Examination In-charge EI), and is facilitated by three sections: Examination, Record Maintenance and Administration. Objective: To help and ensure smooth and orderly conduct of examinations in the institute as per guidelines issued by the University of Mumbai from time to time.
To carry out examinations, publish results and award certificates (Provided by the University and Institute) to the students who pass the final examinations.Keeping record of each and every issue related to the examinations and organizing workshops and seminars for the improvement of the examination system.
The Examination Committee shall make the Block and Seating Arrangement and display them on the concerned Notice Board/Website and Blocks.The Exam Committee shall hold a pre-exam meeting to brief the members of faculty with regard to the examination procedures and the role and responsibilities of A report of same shall be submitted to the Principal.To ensure that the entire exam related documents reach the university in time.
ISO committee is responsible maintaining the records according to ISO 9000:2015.
Industrial visits to industrial companies or research laboratories working in the materials field visit are arranged each year by the Industrial Visits Academic Organizer. As part of their practical coursework, each student is required to attend 2 of these visits during their 2 years. These visits are assessed via a short word-processed report on the visit.

MCA Awareness committee is responsible for spreading the agenda of our college among the Science and IT graduate students in various Mumbai colleges to motivate the students to do MCA course.
Objective: To develop and encourage literary skills.
